Sega Genesis Collection

Question about the Sega Genesis Collection for PS2?

I just bought the Sega Genesis collection for the PS2 and have to admit it’s a great compilation BUT I cannot access the two player co-op on Golden Axe 1. I can do it on the second and third, but not the first. Anybody else have this problem and know how to deal with it?

I don’t own the game, but I remember when I bought the Sega Cd, it came with a disc that included Golden Axe and several other games (some that were 2 player) and Golden Axe was only one player. I called Sega, and they told me that’s how it was on the collection. Interestingly enough, they also did this for the 6 pack cartridge for the Genesis.

Long story short, when Sega puts the Genesis Golden Axe in any collection, it tends to be one player. Stupid for a great 2 player game and even stupider that other games on those collections allow 2 player.
